November 2020: ITIJ Editorial Comment
ITIJ Editor Sarah Watson assesses some of the key content in the November issue of ITIJ and looks ahead to our forthcoming industry events
Here at the ITIJ and ITIC HQ (well, our collective, home-based workstations), we’re really excited to be bringing you our first virtual International Travel & Health Insurance Conference – ITIC Connected – this week.
See here or p.7 of the digital edition for a few key highlights, stay tuned at ITIJ.com for daily updates from the event, and look out for the next issue of ITIJ, where we’ll have a full review of all the sessions, forums and speaker presentations, not to mention all the social, networking and wellness activities happening throughout. I really look forward to catching up with many of our readers during ITIC Connected, so do drop into the ITIJ exhibitor sessions if you can, to meet the team and find out how you can get involved in future issues.
Concluding this year’s event will as always, be the ITIJ Awards, where we’ll be revealing the winners in each of our eight categories. In a year like no other, we are especially honoured to be able to reward the extraordinary efforts made by so many companies in each different sector of this global industry. We salute your agility, resilience and innovation, and look forward to celebrating your successes with you. The show begins at 19:00 hrs GMT on 5 November at itij.com/awards. I look forward to seeing you there!
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the November 2020 issue of ITIJ, where our packed news sections have the latest on industry adaptations, affinity partnerships and product developments around Covid-19; key travel initiatives that are aimed at helping the tourism industry to get moving again; and IPMI news from around the world in the section brought to us by the International Hospitals & Healthcare Review.
Elsewhere, in our feature articles, our focus is on the benefits to travel insurers of raising consumer awareness around the hazards of driving abroad, and on travel insurance development and distribution in the MENA region. Get a feel for the burgeoning market in this part of the world ahead of our first annual ITIC MENA event, which launches in Dubai in April next year. Registration for the conference is now open at ITIC.co.
There’s so much to look forward to on the horizon, but so much to navigate in the meantime. So, stay safe and keep in touch – we always want to hear how you’re doing and learn of your developments.
